TODAY'S youngsters are paying for living in a noisier society.
Hearing aid audiologist Mel Rawnsley is seeing an increasing number of younger people who are suffering hearing loss.
Now Mr Rawnsley, who has more than 30 years hearing care experience, has been given a sound job in Leigh.
Scrivens has appointed him to run a hearing care centre at Conlons, where he will run weekly consultations.
Mr Rawnsley said: "I get a great deal of satisfaction from my job, especially when I see the look of joy on a client's face that I've helped return to the world of sound.
"I'm seeing an increasing number of younger people who are suffering hearing loss as a direct result of the noisier environment we live in today.
"It is vital that people start to look after their hearing and have regular checks in the same manner they take care of their eyes." LOUD AND CLEAR: Mel Rawnsley is helping young people cope in today's noisy environment
