A TREASURE trove of cash is being offered to innovative and imaginative community groups in a bid to bring society closer together.
Many groups in the borough will receive £1,500 for initiatives to improve their home life and environment.
Any community-based group can apply for a grant, and those with the most imaginative and beneficial project ideas will receive the cash.
The proposed project must have a clear theme aimed at improving conditions for the community, as well as having a realistic long-term plan.
People and Places manager Nick Burdekin said: "The Community Grant Scheme offers local community groups the perfect starting point to put into practice some of their ideas and designs for local environmental improvement.
"Often, it is People and Places money that acts as a catalyst for further investment by local community groups in their neighbourhoods."
