INTREPID biker Alfred Houghton pictured after completing the 900-mile plus trip from Land's End to John O'Groats in aid of charity.
The National Cycle Touring Club member from Haydock tackled the marathon trip in aid of Derian House, a children's hospice based in Chorley, and has so far raised £2,000.
He told the Star: "I really enjoy cycling, as well as taking part in a number of other sports and I have completed the London Marathon a couple of times. To get myself in proper shape I had to train very hard, but the aim of raising money for such a worthy charity gave me all the encouragement I needed to achieve my goal".
