THE Trees Community Centre in Wargrave, Newton-le-Willows, in conjunction with St Helens College, will be holding an accredited gardening course for any budding green fingers who can commit to one-day-a-week for 30 weeks.
The course will begin in September and will give people the chance to learn about all aspects of gardening from tree planting, feeding and weed control, to health and safety and tool maintenance.
As well as the knowledge and qualification gained by completing the course, participants will also be giving valuable assistance to members of the local community who find it difficult to work in their gardens, and who have volunteered their gardens to be worked on for the duration of the course.
There are 14 places available on the course and places are free to those receiving benefit. Ring 01925 222188 for details.
