A 27-year-old man who attacked his former fiancee is in custody awaiting sentence.
John Howe, of Westwood Road, Blackburn, was found guilty of one count of assault causing actual bodily harm, after a two day trial at Burnley Crown Court.
He was cleared of a further allegation of assault and remanded in custody until August 2.
His victim Jacqueline Bates had told the jury how the defendant punched her in the eye and left her with a bleeding nose after attacking her at their home. He had also hit her with a stick.
Miss Bates said fighting became a "natural thing," in their relationship and Howe always promised he would not do it agin.
