A TEENAGER from Radcliffe died after the car she was travelling in was involved in a head-on collision.

Lindsey Gunning, aged 17, of Bolton Road, was a passenger in a Vauxhall Cavalier which crashed on Saturday night.

The driver of the Cavalier and his other passenger were also killed.

Emergency services were called to Pilsworth Road, Heywood, at 10.15pm after the crash between an Astra and the Cavalier.

Cavalier driver Graham Lowe, aged 25, and Phillip Kelly, aged 16, from Heywood, are the other victims.

The driver of the Astra, Dennis McKay, aged 55, and his passenger, Adam McKay, aged 25, believed to be his son, suffered serious injuries. The man had to be cut free by firefighters.

They were taken to Birch Hill Hospital in Rochdale for treatment. Mr McKay senior suffered broken ribs and the younger man suffered a broken wrist.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said they believed their were a number of people on Pilsworth Road at the time who witnessed the collision.
