I HAVE in front of me a standard police 'Take Action' leaflet, which specifically states: "A racist incident is any incident which is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person."
I also have in front of me the report (LET, June 30) about the attack on Daniel Brooks by two Asian youths, where the incident is described by the boy's father as racist. The police, however, are denying this, which makes a complete nonsense of the policy as stated in their literature.
I wonder what they would have said if the victim had been Asian and the attackers white?
