BURNLEY reported back for pre-season training today with Ternent expecting a full roll-call.

Lennie Johnrose and Graham Branch have been training through the summer to get over injury problems that dogged them last season.

And physio Ian Liversedge gave them the all-clear, along with Lee Briscoe and Glen Little, to join the rest of the first-team squad as they were put through their paces at Gawthorpe.

Liversedge said: "Lennie is perhaps not 100 per cent and I might have to nurse him through it but he should be okay and the other three will be flying. We'll see how it goes in training but they will definitely start training.

"I will gauge their progress and see how they go in training as to whether they will be ready to start games straight away in the Isle of Man. But they are ready to step it up in training.

"Lennie hasn't played since February and whether he's going to be match-fit for the early games I don't know.

"I'll have to see how it goes in training but I will say he'll be fit for the start of the season.

"He's not far away but he hasn't kicked a ball in anger since February so he needs to get fit before he starts playing, otherwise you can pick up other injuries.

"Branchy needs to get fit as well but he's on course for the first game. No doubt they will go to the Isle of Man but but whether they feature in all the games I don't know."

Little and Briscoe have also been working overtime during the summer in a bid to avoid the hamstring injuries that kept them out for long spells last season.

Little is wearing specially adapted boots to combat the problem, while Briscoe has been working intensively to correct a slight muscle imbalance in his back and around the pelvic area.
