TWO 13-year-old boys were assaulted within a day of each other at a Pendle school.

Police said the first boy was attacked by two boys of a similar age and suffered a broken cheekbone, broken jaw and broken nose.

The incident occured at 3.20pm on Thursday at Park High School, in Colne.

A second attack on another 13-year-old boy took place as he was leaving the school between 12.50pm and 1pm on Friday, as the school was breaking up for the summer holidays.

DC Dean Holden said the teenager was tripped by someone before being kicked in the back of the head and repeatedly hit in the face.

He is not believed to have suffered any injuries.

The police do not know if the two incidents are connected. A 13-year-old boy has been arrested and released on police bail in connection with the first assault.
