AN inquest has been opened into the death of David Mellelieu, who died after a collision with a bus in Blackburn Road, Accrington on June 21.
Mr Mellelieu, 31, of Persia Street, Accrington, finally died in the Royal Preston Hospital last week after suffering serious head injuries in the collision.
His death came seven years after his younger brother, Frankie, then aged 23, plunged to his death from the third floor balcony of an apartment block in the Tenerife holiday resort of Puerto Rico.
Frankie, a self-employed builder, was due to return home to Accrington the next day.
David had a nine-year-old son and lived with his partner, Pat Goodwin.
The inquest was adjourned until October 11.
