A 64-YEAR-OLD woman was treated in hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire at her home at New Barn Court, Rockcliffe Street, Blackburn.
It happened about 1.05am today, when the woman went to bed and left a pan of stew cooking on the stove.
Firefighters were called to the property after reports of the automatic smoke alarm had been activated but when they arrived the warden had already rescued the woman who was sleeping in her bedroom.
She has been released from Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
