VANESSA Peacock came up trumps in the re-arranged and re-organised Roddlesworth Roller after she was first female home.
The F45 Clayton Harrier finished in 37 minutes 42 seconds in a race that was extended by one mile and was originally scheduled to take place back in March.
The route was extended to give runners more of a challenge than normal and previous winner Neil Wilkinson of Salford rose to the occasion to set a new course record of 30:55 ahead of Jason Hodgson of Horwich who was second.
Under 20 runner Alex McVey, also of Horwich, was first youngster home in fourth place in 32:40.
Local interest surrounded the two clubs.
First local home was Alan Alty of Chorley Harriers in 11th place. But not to be outdone, ex-Abbey Village pupil, Peter Dickenson took first Under 18, and posted an impressive time for his first senior race in 37:27 to lead home the Chorley AC contingent.
Janet Pound continued her good form and finished 2nd F45.
The highlight of the day was for John Swift, Chorley AC vet 60, who finished in 67th place in an impressive time of 44: 29.
The Daffodil Doddle race, saw Chorley AC's Nathan Lawton take first home who was closely followed by Victoria Snape who was the first female home.
Honours for the first Secondary team went to a very strong Southlands High School team, consisting of Nathan Lawton, Michael Unsworth, and Adam Taylor.
Yet again Abbey Village School dominated the Primary section with William Dearden leading home the team.
