ON Saturday Sutton CC First XI won at Cheshire Lines. On winning the toss skipper Mike Rimmer bowled first and it paid immediate dividends as Swaggart Ray with 8-39 and Geoff Bowles with two wickets bowled Cheshire Lines out for 89.
They were helped by two excellent catches by Danny Appleton and Kieron Barr. Sutton played a difficult track better than their opponents and knocked the runs off for the loss of six wickets.
At New Street the Second XI also found themselves in the field. They bowled out Cheshire Lines for 96 before an unbeaten 50 from Stuart Rimmer helped them to a two wicket win.
The thirds played Eccleston on Sunday. In a reduced over game Eccleston made an excellent 151 from 27 overs. Sutton were not up with the run rate after an excellent early spell from Gornall and the highlight was a maiden 50 in senior cricket for Danny Appleton. Special mention must go to 12 year-old Les Yates who hit 115 not out against Haydock at under 13s level.
This week's match sponsor was Ste Greener Motors.
