THE team at Ruskin Leisure were swinging in the rain on Saturday when they didn't allow torrential downpours to dampen their spirits during a special celebration day.

The Leisure and fitness base of Ruskin Gym and Oasis was taken over in May by a new contract management team called The Working Health Company Ltd.

Working Health brought a host of ideas to bring the centre to the forefront of the market both in services on offer and management style. Many changes have already been made such as the reduction of all membership rates, a variety of exercise classes, beauty therapy and many new pieces of equipment on show. To celebrate these changes the Fitness team and Caroline Brooker organised a grand re-launch day in the grounds of Ruskin Leisure on Saturday.

After weeks of preparation, the team and members were prepared for a fantastic day of sun, games good food and enjoyment. Unfortunately due to the 'typical' English weather, torrential rain let the day down. But members, staff, friend and family refused to let the downpour ruin the day.

The grand re-launch day turned into a fantastic social event leading into the early hours of the morning.

The fun and games originally planned are still in the pipelines and will hopefully be revived at a late summer open day. The centre is open to all individuals aged 16 and over and with any level of fitness. For more details call the Fitness team on 01744 454494.
