THERE were some good performances from the girls of St Helens Sutton AC when they took part in the Macdonald's League match held on the opening day of the new track at Horwich.

The summer series of races in the parks of Liverpool is now almost half over, the latest being the five-mile race on the paths of Stanley Park in the shadow of Liverpool FC's Anfield stadium.
One of the hottest days of the year meant that times were inevitably slow but did not stop Cecilia having her customary age group win with her time of 38 mins 20 secs.
Also running were Richie Bradshaw, 35 mins 30 secs, and Trevor Prescott, 43 mins 3 secs.
ON a sad note, everyone connected with the club was saddened to hear of the death of member Terry O'Connor at the age of 59. The thoughts and prayers of the members are with his wife, Linda and daughter, Holly and other members of the family.
