1985: Two simultaneous Live Aid concerts in London and Philadelphia were held. They ran for 16 hours and raised over £50 million for victims of famine in Africa.
1995: The controversial youth programme, The Word, was axed by Channel 4.
1999: Computer VDUs were blamed for causing sick building syndrome through radiation.
