VOLUNTARY groups across Lancashire will benefit from £50,000 of Government cash.
Money from the Community Champions Fund will help people set up or improve community groups. Anyone can apply for a grant, funded by the Department of Employment and the Environment. Funding can be given for a wide range of uses, including equipment, training, room hire and publicity, providing it will have a positive impact on the local community.
Nigel Bacon, centre manager for West Lancashire Council for Voluntary service which are handling the scheme, said: "Small grants can often make a big difference to individuals and groups."
Application packs from West Lancs CVS on 01695 733737. Closing date for applications is Friday, August, 24.
