RAINY weather couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of girl cricketers who competed at Preston Cricket Club this week for the Lancashire Girls Cricket Championships.
Nine teams from around the county competed for the Sir Robert Atkins Trophy.
Ashton High won the under 15s competiton while Broughton High finished runners up in the under 13s cup.
Preston Sports Development officer Dean Brandwood said: "The girls have shown tremendous enthusiasm for the sport and have had great support from their coaches. Special thanks must go to David Wilson of Preston CC for making the day a success, but most of all the participants."
