TRADING Standards chiefs are warning people against a holiday offer that could leave them out of pocket.
Two companies are said to be involved -- UK Consumer Competitions and Holidays Direct -- but Trading Standards bosses say both firms are using false addresses and are unknown to them as holiday firms.
The scheme advertises a holiday for two at a cost of £29.50 per person, and the company says it will provide a holiday within 18 months, with the customer being given up to 90 days notice. In reality customers could be offered a 5am flight from a London airport leaving in seven days. Trading Standards chiefs say holidaymakers could also be liable for extra payments for 'hidden' extras.
Customers who have complained to Trading Standards have trying to contact the companies directly with little success. For advice call Trading Standards on 08456 001352.
