A WELL-KNOWN Cleveleys resident who emigrated to Australia in 1987 has died aged 80.
Donald Houston, known as Don, died at home in Perth, Western Australia on July 7. He had lived on Stockdove Way, Cleveleys, for 30 years until he emigrated with his wife Edna in 1987 to join their two daughters, Wendy and Glenys, who were living in Australia.
Mr Houston worked at the ICI power station in Thornton Cleveleys from 1958 until his retirement in 1978, and was an active member of the Cleveleys Park Club and Fleetwood Conservative Club.
Their eldest daughter Doreen, who lives in Warrington, and son Keith, from Preston, have flown out to be with the rest of the family. His funeral is expected to be tomorrow (Friday) in Perth, Australia.
