A FATHER was left with a fractured eye socket after trying to prevent an attack on his son.
The man and his son were walking through Bonny Street Market in Blackpool at 10.45pm, on April 28, when a man approached the son as if to attack him. The father stepped in and was struck in the face. The attacker was described as white, aged 18 to 19, of stocky build, with short dark hair and wearing a dark fleece jacket.
An elderly man was robbed of his wallet as he boarded a tram outside Blackpool Tower at 4.15pm on July 1. The thief deliberately threw coins on the ground and bent down to pick them up, causing the 78-year-old man to stop. At the same time another thief stole his wallet from the back pocket of his trousers. One thief was described as white and in his early 20s, 6ft tall, of medium build with short dark hair. There was no description of the second man.
Two men picked a fight with guests outside a Blackpool hotel and tried to force entry before throwing a ceramic pot through a window. The incident happened at 2am on July 5 outside the Lynbar Hotel on Vance Road. Both men were white and in their early 20s. One was 6ft tall with a big build and short black hair, wearing black trousers and a dark blue short-sleeved shirt. The other was between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins, of slim build, and was wearing black trousers and a white short-sleeved shirt.
An 85-year-old woman had her purse stolen by two thieves who entered her home on Claremont Road, Blackpool, through an open kitchen door and pushed past her before taking the purse from her lounge. The incident happened on July 5 at 2.55pm. Both men were white and possibly accompanied by a white terrier dog. One was in his mid 40s, 6ft tall, slim with long, straggly, grey, unkempt hair and wore a dark leather waistcoat without a shirt. The other thief was in his mid 30s, 5ft 6ins tall with a stocky build and dark hair. He wore a navy top and jeans.
A woman had her handbag snatched by a thief who ran past her as she walked down Caunce Street, Blackpool, at 12.25pm on July 3. He was white, aged about 20, 5ft 9ins tall with a medium build, brown shoulder-length hair in an Oasis style and wearing a black tracksuit with a silver line across the chest.
Two thieves stole beer from a shop in Meadow Avenue, Fleetwood. One distracted the owner while another stole the beer at 7.27am on July 1. Both men were white. One was aged 20, 5ft 5ins tall with a slim build and brown hair in a Number Two cut. He wore a denim shirt and dark trousers. The other was aged between 25 and 30, 5ft 10 ins with fair hair in a Number Two cut. He wore a silk or satin shirt.
Two thieves were disturbed by the owners of the house they were attempting to break into on Rosedale Avenue, Blackpool, at 3.38am on July 3. Both men were white. One was in his early 20s, 5ft 5ins tall with a skinhead haircut and wore a green three-quarter length coat and dark blue jeans. He was described as not good looking. The other was in his late teens or early 20s, was taller than 5ft 5ins with dark brown cropped hair and wore blue tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the side, a blue coat and white trainers.
