STABLE bosses today said they feared their missing moggy had been killed after several people reported seeing a cat in the roadside.
Jean Marsden, of Thwaites' Eanam stables, in Blackburn, appealed to the public for any information about their four-legged friend Jubilee after she went walk-abouts more than a week ago.
The black and white kitty who was famous for catching mice, disappeared when builders were drafted in to the premises to tighten up security following a series of break-ins.
After an article appeared in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, Jean said she received several phone calls from cat-lovers saying they saw a cat fitting Jubilee's description lying in the gutter.
Jean said: "It's not what we wanted to hear but I think it must be Jubilee because these people said they saw her there on Saturday morning which is the day after she went missing.
"They were all cat-lovers who were phoning up and they all sounded really upset.
"I think the builders must have frightened her off. I'm going to try and persuade the lads to get another rescue cat now but it's really sad news because Jubilee was part of the team here."
