I HAVE just read the letter from "Nuff Respect" (June 19) decrying those with "disabled" badges. Perhaps he/she should get the facts right.
First, there are no specified disabled parking spaces on Silver Street or outside Bury Asda, only on-street parking where the disabled can park free providing they display the proper badge clearly inside the windscreen. And inside Asda car park there were only four or five spaces for disabled drivers the last time I was there.
If "Nuff Respect" has some real evidence that the disabled badges are being used incorrectly, all he/she has to do is take the person's name from the displayed card and report it to one of the wardens or to the office on Broad Street.
I suspect that "Nuff Respect" is young, impatient and just plain ignorant. Incidentally, what is the hurry going along Silver Street? It is a one-way street and he/she can only be looking for somewhere to park. The same applies to outside Asda, which has its own large car park for anyone to use.
