STUDENTS stepped into the English Civil War when they turned up for high school.
Colonel Thomas Granville, alias Des Thomas, and his wife brought history to life for 12 and 13-year-old pupils from year eight at Alder Grange High School, Rawtenstall.
History teacher Maggie Wilcox said: "They got the chance to wear the uniforms of the day, try on the helmets, had a pike practice, musket and sword practice and fired the cannon, which they really enjoyed."
