A COMPUTER and office supplies shop which was considering moving after a flood has done so -- but only into larger premises nearer Bacup centre.
Brothers Pete and Steve Shepherd were considering their future after a flood from a burst pipe in a private flat above their premises in Yorkshire Street caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.
But today they opened their new shop on St James Street and soon they will be expanding the computer side of the business to offer training for older people.
Steve said: "When we were considering our future a woman came into the shop and placed an envelope on the counter and left. In it was a card which said please don't go. Lots of people have asked us to stay and now we have expanded to use all three floors, so there's no possibility of any more accidents!
"We are going to be offering computer training on the basics and also have Internet access. We have had so many people popping in to wish us luck and saying they are glad we have chosen to stay in Bacup."
The shop has metal security shutters, CCTV cameras and is fully alarmed and the brothers are inquiring about joining the community shop to shop radio scheme.
