SCHOOLCHILDREN have been put in the driving seat with the introduction of their very own set of wheels.
Pupils at Avondale County Primary, in St Alban's Road, Darwen, were delighted when their new 15-seater minibus was unveiled at an official presentation by members of the Parents and Teachers' Association.
At a cost of £5,300, and complete with the school's very own logo, the vehicle will be used for school outings and other extra-curricula activities.
Headteacher Geoff Tennant said: "It's excellent. It's not very often you get a primary school with its very own minibus.
"I'm sure we must be one of the only ones, if not the only primary school in Darwen to have such a thing."
