POLICE are looking for a driver who ran off from the scene of an accident near Rawtenstall town centre.
Officers said the Vauxhall Cavalier he was driving went out of control in Queens Square, crossed the carriageway, collided with a caravan, crossed the roundabout and came to a stop on the forecourt of the fire station.
The accident involved a Rover 418, driven by Anthony Deeley, 35, of Compston Avenue, Crawshawbooth, which was towing a caravan, and a Nissan Primera driven b Zoe Harrison of Church Street, Crawshawbooth. Police are appealing for witnesses and for information from anyone who knows the identity of the driver of the G-registered Cavalier to contact PC Brendan Watson on 01282 472542. The incident happened at 6.40pm on Friday.
