THE family of battling toddler Joshua Westwell have booked their celebration holiday to Euro Disney and are now keeping their fingers crossed he will be well enough to go.
Joshua has a rare form of liver cancer and since it was diagnosed in April at his 18-month routine check, he had been receiving chemotherapy at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendlebury.
The youngster is back at the hospital this week with his mum Karen Skinner to find out the results of a scan to check the spread of the disease and receive more chemotherapy.
But the family, Karen, dad Paul Westwell and their daughter six-month-old Chloe, of Lee Road, Bacup, have already booked to go to Euro Disney next year.
A fund-raiser at Rosemount Working Men's Club, Stacksteads, for the Borchardt Ward where Joshua is treated raised more than £1,000.
Joshua will not be able to celebrate his second birthday in September with a party, but his family hope he is given the all clear by Christmas.
