NEW boss of Rossendale and Pendle CID is Detective Inspector Tony Bolton.
He has taken over from DI Steve Brunskill who has moved to police headquarters at Hutton to join the senior investigation team.
Mr Bolton, who will report to Det Chief Insp David Brian, joins Pennine police division from Blackburn, where he was uniformed operations response inspector.
DI Bolton began his police career 20 years ago.
He has a varied police background and has previously worked in the Burnley area on uniform patrol and detective duties.
He has also worked outside the force on secondment to National Police training at the regional recruit training centre and as head of the Constabulary's uniform and detective training centre.
He said: "I am looking forward to building on the good work already done by Steve Brunskill and his team.
"I am particularly looking forward to working with the local community to help crack crime and with this in mind would be happy to hear from any local residents who may have information about local crimes."
Mr Bolton, 38, who lives in the Pennine divisional area, is married with one child. His hobbies include walking and mountain biking.
