REBECCA White broke her personal best at the Norwich Union World Trials and AAA's Championship, finishing third in the triple jump at Birmingham on Saturday.
The 21-year-old from Haslingden, who now competes for Sale Harriers, leapt to 12 metres and 85cm -- one cm better than her personal best.
Rebecca has jumped over 13 metres before but it was wind-assisted and she will be looking to register a legal 13m jump before the season is out to put her in line for the Commonwealth Games next year.
Ashia Hansen won the competition in her first event this year after struggling with injury. The Shaftesbury Harrier leapt to 14.09 -- and looks certain to be on the plane for the World Championships in Canada in three weeks time.
Deborah Rowe from Birchfield was second with a wind-assisted 12.96.
