A RETIRED Radcliffe businessman is the new president of Bury Irwell Vale Rotary Club.
Mr Peter Green is the son of Prestwich woman Mrs Elizabeth Green who in January, at the age of 95, was awarded the MBE in the Queen's New Year Honours List.
The award recognised the fact that she had devoted 75 years service to young people at the Adelphi Lads Club and the Ragged School for Girls in Salford.
Mr Green, who used to live in Prestwich but who now resides in Stand Lane, Radcliffe, is also president of the Adelphi Lads Club.
He will now combine this role with his presidency of the Rotary Club of which he has been a member for the past 15 years.
Mr Green (61), married with a son and daughter, is also a keen golfer and is a member of the Stand Club.
