SIX youngsters charged with the manslaughter of Nelson woman Sheila Bridge were remanded in custody for a third week when the case was adjourned at Reedley Youth Court.
Mrs Bridge, 62, of Lansbury Place, died 11 minutes after dialling 999 to report a group of youths causing a nuisance outside her home. Four boys and two girls between the ages of ten and 15 appeared individually before a youth panel to be told they would continue to be held.
The case was adjourned until next Monday to enable both defence and prosecution to review their cases following the results of a post mortem examination. The defence solicitors said they had received a statement from the Home Office pathologist but were awaiting their own report.
The 15-year-old boy was returned to a remand centre, the 12-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy were remanded to a secure unit and the 13-year-old girl and ten and 11-year-old boys were sent to local authority care.
The group of youths are also charged with the burglary of Mrs Bridge's home as well as with public order offences.
The 15-year-old boy was charged with a second burglary at Bennett Street, Nelson, on the same night.
