FIREWORKS came early to St Saviour's CE Church in Bacup when a display was held at an open day.
Visitors got the chance to walk up inside the bell tower and tour the church as well as help to raise money by spending at the stalls and watching the displays.
Entertainment was provided by the Junior Scout Band from Bacup and a troop of dancers from St Saviour's School.
The Rev Stephen Brook said: "It as not really a fund-raising event but we still made £476, which will go into church funds.
"We were very pleased with the turnout and were kept busy.
"The forecast was for rain but fortunately it stayed dry.
"Our next project is to repair the chancel roof, which is going to cost £10,000, but we are hoping that the sale of land opposite the church will help towards the cost."
