NEW neighbourhood nurseries aimed at helping unemployed mums get back into work will be the subject of an open evening tomorrow.
The event will start at 7pm at Wensley Fold Primary School in Manor Road, Blackburn.
A Blackburn with Darwen Council Early Years Development and Childcare Team spokesperson said: "Neighbourhood nurseries are about offering quality childcare and early learning places in disadvantaged areas, to reduce unemployment.
"They are expected to provide full day care for children from birth to school age in well-designed and child-friendly environments."
Five new nurseries are to be established providing approximately 240 new places to children who live in the disadvantaged areas of Blackburn with Darwen.
"They will give parents an opportunity to work or attend training, and give their children a positive experience of care and education."
Further details will be available at the meeting, where there will be an opportunity to speak to working group members.
To book a place at the meeting ring the Partnership Support Officer on 01254 227220.
