MUMS and their children have been learning how much fun books can be at a special course at Tup Bridge Family Centre in Rawtenstall.
The five-week course entitled Make a Book Use a Book has been run by young people's librarian Suzanne Moriarty and Nikki Manley, from the centre.
Suzanne said: "The aim was to help parents and carers and their children to work together in a fun way, helping them to improve basic skills, literacy and knowledge of books as well as accepting the importance of books in enhancing children's education."
At the end of the course all the mums had written books or nursery rhymes which had been made into a book and their children had illustrated the words.
Mum of four Carol Fletcher has been taking part with her son three-year-old son Ryan. She said: "The course has encouraged me to read more books with my children and make sure they have a good start before they go to school."
