RAYMOND and Sheila Jepson celebrated 50 years of happy marriage by meeting up with their best man and his wife while cruising in Alaska.
The couple, from East Lancs Road in Blackburn, had not seen Andrew Hannon since he left Blackburn with his wife, Loyola, in 1957.
The Alaskan cruise was followed by visits to Vancouver, Seattle and Anchorage before spending a few days with Andrew and Loyola at their home in Toronto.
Married at Holy Souls Church in Blackburn on July 14, 1951, the couple have three children and seven grandchildren.
Raymond, 71, worked as a Customs and Excise Officer in Blackburn, Accrington and Wigan for 40 years.
Sheila, 70, began working life at the Mullard factory before becoming a dinner lady at Holy Souls School, Pleckgate.
Sheila said: "Overall we are very happy. There are always ups and downs in married life but we have managed to put up with each other."
