I FOUND the question by Mrs S Love (Letters, July 13) regarding the identity crisis of young Asian youths quite confusing. "Are they British or are they Muslim?" she asked.
How can race and religion be coupled together in this context? For example, we are either British, Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi etc by nationality, or Christian, Muslim, Hindu etc by religion.
Muslims are followers of the faith of Islam irrespective of their country of birth, county of residence or skin colour, with probably a massive proportion of young Asian youths in Britain today being both British and Muslim.
