MICHAEL Douglas scored four times as goal hungry Lord Raglan continued their impressive start to this summer tournament.
The grandson of Blackburn Rovers legend Bryan Douglas was the tormented-in-chief as the Miners Arms sunk to their first defeat of the season.
Lord Raglan have now scored 22 goals in the opening three games of the seven team competition -- and a top four finish and a semi final place now look a certainty.
Raglan, playing a 3-5-2 formation, took advantage of an out-of-sorts Miners side who had already registered 7-1 and 8-0 wins themselves. Douglas netted a brace before Craig Podmore got in on the action to put Raglan firmly in control.
Miners, who were not playing their usual flowing football, pulled one back when Ricky Arkwright capitalised on a goalkeeper error from Darren Slater.
With Paul McDonald pulling the strings in midfield and Lee Gough enjoying a free role behind Douglas and Podmore, Raglan seemed to be cruising to victory after the strikers both scored again.
But Miners, from Accrington, responded with goals from Paul Allen and Nick Cooper to put a bit of pressure on the Blackburn side.
However, with a team brimming full of attacking talent, Lord Raglan stepped up a gear and Douglas in particular put the game beyond Miners.
The Lord Raglan side is made up of players from team club's Blackburn Sunday League side and members of the Kings Inn squad.
The team included Lee Gallagher, Ben O'Hare, Mark Smith, Lee Smith, Mark Gray, Steve Newton and Mark Garrett.
Player/Manager Darren Slater said: "This is the first time we have played in this competition but I think we have a very good chance of winning it."
