CLARETS bosses have linked with police to bring a feel safe factor to the Turf Moor area.
They have launched a campaign to raise awareness of the fact that there are now a dozen CCTV cameras operating in and around the ground, helping to make the area safer not only for fans but for local residents and shoppers too.
They are hoping that posters dotted around Turf Moor will not only remind visitors in the vicinity of he club that they are being captured on camera, but also make them feel safer.
Inspector Dave Shepherd explained: "The purpose of the new signs is to remind people, especially those thinking of engaging in criminal activity, that they are being watched from a special monitoring station inside the club."
He added: "However, they are also designed to reassure law abiding citizens that movements in and around the ground are being monitored and so if a crime takes place, we stand a god chance of identifying the offender."
Daniel Ruben marketing manager at the club said: "We are delighted to be working in close partnership with local police to make the area a safer place for all concerned."
"We want people to feel secure and these cameras will go a long way towards achieving that goal."
