THE punk festival was a great success. It seems to have benefited a wide range of local businesses who I think needed this extra boost.
Everyone connected with the organisation of this event deserves a pat on the back.
I do not think the market traders have much to complain about.
They know that the Festival Market can be used for events for a number of days each year, it is not their sole domain.
At least they were provided with alternative accommodation. If only 16 traders thought is was worthwhile to trade that is their decision.
When they traded on the old market site they had to move their stock at the end of each market day. Now they can leave it on site.
Surely to move out once a year is not a lot to ask for. As for having to walk half a mile to a toilet. Well!
There is a toilet block outside the dome and there was all the portable ones across the road they could have used.
I feel it is about time they stopped moaning and thinking just of themselves.
I have a spare kettle at home if they want one. It will save them having to wait to see if the council will provide a replacement.
I am not a business owner.
