WHEN I was a lad I had a toy which I could wind up really tightly and then set careering around the floor until it fell over, still making lots of noise and sparks.
The editorial of two weeks ago reminded me of those happy days, lots of words and clamour but goodness knows what it was all about.
With all that hot weather I suspect that Citizen Smith has been having an executive sun lounge installed at the top of Citizen Towers and that he's overdone it a bit.

Funny, you're the only one we've heard about that claims not to know what the piece was about. The problem for you Hilton, is not that you didn't understand the piece... it's that you understand it all too well.
Still it's refreshing to see that you treat the wasting of £2million of public money so seriously.
When the District Auditor was called in to investigate at Doncaster Council, Doncaster immediately launched a thorough and independent investigation into its own affairs... what did this lot do... nothing, save hamper and threaten anyone trying to expose the reasons for the council's ineptitude.
Glad it amuses you, personally I think it's a disgraceful example of power without responsibility. Enjoy your 10-week parliamentary summer recess playing with your toys - Ed
