HOSPITAL Radio Rossendale is throwing its doors open and holding an open weekend at the studio on August 11 and 12.
Everyone is invited to find out more about the 12-year-old charitable radio by visiting the studio in Rossendale Hospital from 1pm to 5pm.
Publicity officer Pauline Haines said: "Come and meet the team, see the studio and maybe have a go! Age is no barrier, but you should be at least 18 years old. Many members are past retirement age.
"We'll show you how the station works and will be visiting wards for requests and interviews throughout the two days. It looks like being a fun weekend."
There will also be a station music quiz to raise funds.
Pauline added: "Come along if you're able, or give us a ring for an application form or to place a request for a patient or staff member on 01706 233334 (24-hour answer-phone).
"Hospital Radio is a bright service serving patients and staff at Rossendale Hospital. This is a great chance to support your local hospital."
Chairman Stuart Haines said: "Hospital broadcasting is a good way to put something back into the community.
"We not only provide entertainment for patients, but we also run a voluntary tea bar in the outpatient department.
"I am proud of our team, who really put a lot of effort in on a variety of projects, but the truth is we need more help. I am hoping the open weekend is a success and more people are introduced to Hospital Radio."
He added that the station planned to extend its broadcasting hours to serve the increasing number of day case and out patients.
