BUSINESSWOMAN Margo Grimshaw today praised emergency services who dealt with a teenager who was attacked in one of her nightclubs.

Shane Brian, who lives in the Whitebirk area of Blackburn, could be scarred for life after he was hit in the face with a glass while on the dance floor of popular Blackburn night club C'est La Vie.

The assault caused a five-inch laceration to his face, running over and under his eye.

He spent several hours at Blackburn Royal Infirmary being treated for his injuries.

The 18-year-old criticised police officers after the attack for the way they dealt with the incident.

He claimed it took them more than 19 hours to get details of what happened from him.

But today Margo, who owns several more nightspots in the the town, praised police officers and ambulance crews who arrived at the scene.

She said: "I rang the police after the attack and they were there immediately and so were the ambulance service.

"I thought the officers took a lot of abuse from youngsters who were in the area at the time before they took the boy to hospital.

"I was really happy with the way the injured lad was treated and as far as I'm concerned the police and the ambulance service were there on time."
