AN inquiry into the death of five-year-old Karla Selley, from Leyland, who died while having a tooth removed in August 1999, has been received by South Lancashire Health Authority.
The health authority accepted the report's recommendation that dentist Michael Lane and anaesthetist George Vanner should be reported to the Chief General Dental Council.
Karla, of Golden Hill Lane, failed to come around after being given general anaesthetic at the Towngate Dental Practice. Mr Lane and Mr Vanner now face serious professional misconduct charges under the General Medical Council for failing to respond properly to national guidelines. The health authority is considering taking action against Mr Lane.
