ROBYN -- a long-haired tortoiseshell cat -- is recovering after using up most of her nine lives.
And now the cute moggie, who almost died in a road accident in the Preston area is looking for home.
But if you cannot offer her a home, you can help with donations to pay for veterinary treatment she received after RSPCA officers took the moggie to Withy Grove Veterinary Clinic, in Bamber Bridge, Preston, where she required major surgery.
Kind-hearted vets at the Station Road practice footed some of the bill towards Robyn's treatment and turned to local cat charity, the SRPCC Cat Welfare Trust, for money to cover the remaining costs.
SRPCC trustee Carole Walker said: "When it was obvious that she was going to need major surgery and intensive care the vets asked if we could help.
"Despite being desperately low in funds we agreed to pick up the rest of the bill which is likely to run into hundreds of pounds but now we need doinations to help."
On initial examination vets feared Robyn had sustained severe nerve damage and had lost her bladder and bowel function.
They opted to make the one to two-year-old cat comfortable and put a hold on surgery until vets were sure she had regained the necessary functions in her renal organs -- confirmed shortly afterwards.
Later x-rays also revealed Robyn had her smashed pelvis and broken a back leg which was later amputated. Now the cat requires a lengthy spell of cage rest to make a full a recovery and is on the prowl for a new home.
Carol added: "As far as we know she is a stray, at least no owner has come forward and no one has reported her missing.
"When she has recovered she will need a good home and preferably one where she will be safe from the risk of being knocked down again."
Anyone wishing to help should contact the SRPCC, 11 St Saviours Close, Bamber Bridge, Preston, PR5 6AH or call the Carol on 321869.
