Pupils COP this! A group of Grange Park youngsters have been learning what it's like to be a police chief.
Pupils from Class Six at Grange Park Junior School wrote a letter to the police as part of an English lesson, outlining some of their concerns about vandalism on Grange Park and asking what officers could do about it.
Blackpool police sergeant Richard Hughes replied to the children's concerns, and invited them to be the chief officer of police for Grange Park for a day, deciding what areas should be policed and how officers should deal with criminals.
Sgt Hughes said: "It was a very good day. The children were very receptive and very keen to get involved.
"They wanted to know about policing, and gave us a list of the areas that they want us to police in future.
"We have learned some areas of concern from their perspective, and I think they understood what we're about.
