LEIGH holidaymakers heading for the Spanish sun are urged to blacklist a zoo housing an abused elephant.
Animal Defenders have launched a boycott to help free Rhanee, an ex-circus elephant, featured during the Chipperfield's UK trial two years ago.
The animal is now trapped in a Spanish zoo and the group is fighting for her to be retired.
She is owned by Parques Reunidos, an entertainment chain in Spain, which bought the elephant from Mary Chipperfield Promotions.
Animal Defenders has launched a worldwide Help Give Rhanee A Break campaign, backed by Sir Paul McCartney and a host of celebrities, to retire Rhanee to an expert sanctuary that cares for ex-circus and abused elephants.
A spokesman for the group said: "We appeal to everyone travelling to Spain to boycott all of Parques Reunidos facilities and the public to voice their disgust. We must not let Rhanee suffer any longer."
