COMPETITION favourite Graeme Wilson from Oldham added the Hamlet Bowling Championship to his growing list of crowns with a convincing victory in Sunday's final at Carr Mill.
Wilson was rewarded with a cheque for £2,000 for his efforts after beating fellow Oldhamer Dave Griffiths in the final.
Carr Mill manager Christopher Harrison said: "The standard of play this year was excellent and the event was very well supported with over 300 spectators chhering the bowlers on, despite the weather."
Local interest in the competition ended at the semi-final stage when St Helens bowler Paul Gartside lost a nip-and-tuck semi against Griffiths.
