IN your report on the lorry collision at the railway bridge in Langho (LET, July 18) -- the eighth such incident in several years -- the leader of Lancashire County Council Hazel Harding, "vowed to look at the situation."
Ms Harding needs to do a lot more than this -- and she needs to do it quickly. It is glaringly obvious that immediate firm action at this danger spot is imperative to reduce the possibility of further incidents. LCC has had long enough to "look at the situation."
If this was private land, the owner/operator could be declared responsible. Maybe the only 'action' which the county council will understand is the prospect of Ms Harding being held personally accountable. The public is looking for action now.
