A VOLUNTEER bureau for the Ribble Valley is to be launched later this week.
The extension of the Millennium Volunteer scheme to the area follows its success in Blackburn with Darwen and Hyndburn.
It aims to give 16 to 24-year-olds the chance to help their community and receive a certificate for completing 100 or 200 hours to show to future employers.
The project is funded by the Department of Education. It will be run in partnership with Lancashire County Council Youth and Community Service, the Community Action Network, and Trinity Community Partnership.
It will be based at the Trinity Centre, Wesleyan Row, Clitheroe. For more information call in at the centre or phone Steve Proctor on 01200 427886 or 07855 811029.
The scheme will be launched during a ceremony next Thursday evening at the Trinity Centre.
